Growing up, he was captivated by the sounds of legendary bands like The Beatles and the high-energy performances of the Jackson 5, which sparked his love for drumming and performance.

Corky’s formal education in music began at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of musical theory and performance. He furthered his training at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California, where he studied under some of the industry's best, focusing on developing his technical prowess and unique style.

Influenced by drumming legends such as Buddy Rich and Alex Van Halen, Corky developed a distinctive style that blends technical skill with a flair for showmanship. His powerful rhythms and engaging performance style quickly caught the attention of the music scene.

Corky’s professional career took off as the drummer for Baton Rouge, a band signed to Atlantic Records, where he showcased his talent on a larger platform. Beyond his work with Baton Rouge, he became a sought-after drummer in North Carolina, performing with notable acts such as The Plaids, Vagabond Saints Society, Driver’s License, Tim Clark and a more current project with the band ‘FLY!’.

Corky’s reputation as a dependable and skilled musician led to numerous opportunities, resulting in him serving as a fill-in emergency drummer for countless bands across various genres. His ability to adapt and thrive in different musical environments has solidified his status as an integral part of the local music community.
